NIM on Trash.
I’ve been reading Colin Beaven’s blog, No Impact Man, for a little while now and have been thoroughly impressed with his insight into the challenges of going green in our world. He maintains an unflinching conviction throughout that green is the responsible, human thing to be doing, which is awesome.
I just wanted to point anyone reading this over to his new series, LV GRN, about little steps we can all take today to impact our environment in a positive way, but even more than that to begin to live responsibly within the bounds which our planet can support. This installment is about reducing the amount of trash we produce (did you know that the average in America per-person is 4.5 pounds a day!?) by saving it for a week and examining it to discover what sort of trash we’re producing and whether or not we really want to be producing it. To me, it’s sort of like a fail-safe log of your life because you never forget to throw something out.
Anyway, I commend Colin to your reading most heartily. Hopefully you are all as impacted by his thoughts as I am beginning to be.
