What Kind of Blogger Are You?

Someone else take this. I think it did a pretty good job on me and Jessie :)

We’re back home. Wish us luck! ;)

Moved from lastRSS to Queries and became XHTML 1.0 Strict compliant!

Oct 10, 2007 in News

Well, I chose to use some of my time out here in KC to do some long waiting work on Jess and I’s website. If you go down to the bottom of the page, you will now find again that we are standards compliant once again, at the Strict level! Also, to speed up the whole process of loading our page, I made everything query based rather than using the RSS feed from blog.burningones.com to generate the front page information, overall reducing the number of http requests on the front page from around 15 to 2… Not bad.

Love you guys!

Thoroughly Enjoying the Prayer Room

Tim smiling off to the right hand side with the prayer room going strong in the background

Well, here we are in the prayer room. I’m totally enjoying myself here. I really needed a rest and recharge. I wish I could figure out how to do this at home, but I’m sure that will come with time.

Love ya’ll!

We’ve Landed!

Oct 07, 2007 in News

So Tim and I have now arrived in the tiniest of airports in Kansas City, MO. YAY! We woke up at 3:30 AM and it is now 11:11 AM- our time (OoO.. it’s a sign- Timmy’s birthday! hehe). Alex and Jaclyn will be picking us up very soon! I’m so nervous and I have no idea why, hehe. I think it’s the anticipation :-)

Off to Kansas City Sunday!

I gained 4 Pounds! over the past 2 days

Oct 03, 2007 in Commentary, News, Play

I’ve been loosing about 2 pounds every 2 days over the past few weeks and then Jess took me to the Chinese buffet yesterday after I missed a few legs of riding due to bike breakdowns.

Well, my cadence was broken alright. At work today, I weighed a whopping 269.2 pounds! Wow!

A Whole New Level of Thoughtless Living…

Oct 02, 2007 in Commentary, News, Play

Well, I did something today that I’m almost ashamed to admit.

If you’re anything like me, you really don’t want to do anything just because. The last thing you want to do is walk through life thoughtlessly, without being fully present. For me, that usually means attempting to make as many things conscious activities rather than unconscious motions. On to my new shame…

This morning I got to school late because I slept too late and when I went to take a shower I got undressed and stepped into the shower and suddenly realized…

I still had my glasses on!

Shocked at myself, I slowly took my glasses off and opened the shower curtain and placed them on the little bench outside the stall and resumed my shower, thinking to myself, ’“Wow, I hope I don’t make a habit of this.”

Still Here

Sep 16, 2007 in Faith in Life, News

Well, I almost had a perfect blogging record save for last Sunday :-).

This week I learned how to knit and use my sewing machine- so I’m knitting (or rather finishing) a scarf that Tim’s mom had started for him before she died, and will shortly be hemming Timmy’s pants.

We went to Texas Roadhouse last night with my family and I’d probably give it a 7/10. My brother, who didn’t know that you were supposed to throw your peanut shells on the ground, turns to me and says, “Jess, this place is really dirty, hehe. The poor girl who was bringing us our food had just given my dad his plate and the whole tray of food fell and smashed to the ground. Beans, steaks and broken plate pieces everywhere! She looked really upset but we were all trying to assure her it was ok, haha.

So it’s all decided- we’re going to Kansas City in October! From the 7th to the 14th- YAY! We’ll be staying with Alex and Jaclyn for most of the trip- it’ll be good to be right across the street from the prayer room and seeing them.

For a deeper update I still have no idea what’s going on with me or what’s wrong, or what I am doing wrong. I still feel like I don’t understand the core of Christianity or God or what He’s doing. And sadly, I think I’m still offended at Him for not giving me what I wanted. I always sing that Misty Edwards song “Baptize My Heart” with the lyrics “I don’t want to be offended, no, I don’t want to be offended, when it’s all coming down” with such a determination that I would never deliberately be offended at God. Well, here am I, deliberately offended, and the moon hasn’t even turned red.

We’ll be going to the leadership summit while we’re at Kansas City, and I’ve never been, but Tim says there’s a time where their prophetic team prophesies over you… and I’m secretly hoping that some random holy man will be able to tell me everything and I’ll be all fixed and ready to go :-) Haha, my theology is horrrrrible!

So if any of you want to pray for me I would be most grateful :-)

Sooooo Busy!

Sep 05, 2007 in News

I have become, sadly, extremely busy lately. I spent 10 hours at work today so that I can attempt to make up plenty of time to go to the One Thing Leadership Summit in October (or something, I should really nail that date down) and then spent the rest of the night, other than having dinner, working on homework. I’m now going to go spend some time with my lovely wife before I should fall asleep for the morning tomorrow.

If you’re reading these, please pray for me that I am able to learn to manage my time effectively, as I am convinced that I am not utilizing my minutes as best I could.

Other than that, adieu! God loves me! I love God! I win!
