Ok, so we’re listening to the “making-of” and it turns out it is a commentary on the evolution of man… hahahahaha… should have gone with my first impression :-)

2001: A Space Odyssey
From December 30, 2007 @ 12:05 am
I just saw the freakiest movie of my life. Timmy suggested we watch a movie tonight. Now, I have heard absolutely nothing about 2001. Tim didn’t saw anything so when the monkey-men came on the screen I assumed it was going to be a creative commentary on the evolution of man.. WRONG! And as if Hal 9000 wasn’t scary enough I NEVER WANT TO GO TO JUPITER! You will be aged by the domino-gods!
It wasn’t until the end that I recognized the producer, Stanley Kubrick, the man who also produced Clockwork Orange (which I have never seen nor will ever see). I think if I had figured that out in the beginning Tim would have had a harder time convincing me that the movie was going to be ok.
I know it is most likely a very deep movie with lots of intellectual and philosophical suggestions about life and time, but I really can’t describe to you how scared I was at the end.. it was kinda akin to the feeling I got when accidently stumbling upon Poltergeist at age 7.
